Thank you for being part of Mentor Match.

The Mentor Match platform is a free resource for members of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, trading as Engineers Australia (‘Engineers Australia’).  Its purpose is to facilitate professional mentoring relationships for Engineers Australia members.

Engineers Australia does not screen participants, or the information provided by participants, in Mentor Match.  The presence of a name and profile in this mentoring directory represents only that the individual is a member of Engineers Australia who wishes to be a professional mentor or a mentee. Engineers Australia makes no representations, endorsements, warranties, or guarantees as to participants' intentions for participating, their expertise, experience, academic or professional history, products and services, and accepts no responsibility for the opinions and information exchanged as a result of Mentor Match or submitted via the Mentor Match platform. Reliance on any information provided by participants in Mentor Match is solely and completely at your own risk; therefore, we advise you to exercise a reasonable degree of caution in your use of, or reliance on, any such information. Mentor Match is for educational purposes only and is not intended to be a substitute for professional training and/or advice.

You warrant that your participation in Mentor Match is solely for the purpose of engaging in professional mentoring (whether as mentor and/or mentee) and all information you provide to Engineers Australia for the purposes of Mentor Match, including your Mentor Match profile information, is complete, true and accurate.  Furthermore, if you identify any information on the Mentor Match platform that is not complete, true or accurate (eg because it is out of date), you undertake to update that information promptly.  You agree that the information you submit for your profile will be made available to others on the Mentor Match platform.

Engineers Australia is not required to actively monitor the Mentor Match platform for inappropriate communications and does not undertake editorial control of material on the site.

Engineers Australia is not responsible for the content of communications between Mentor Match participants.

Communications on the Mentor Match platform must not contain any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials.  They must not contain any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By submitting any communication on the Mentor Match platform, the submitting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission for such use from the copyright owner.

Communications should not be submitted if they encourage or facilitate participants to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.

The content of communications on the Mentor Match platform from participants do not represent the views of Engineers Australia and is not endorsed by it.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Engineers Australia, its directors, officers, employees, members and agents, and each of them, be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, incidental, exemplary, contractual, or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever of any kind, resulting from any damages or loss, arising out of or in any manner connected with your use or nonuse of Mentor Match or from the result of any and all contacts that may occur from your participation in Mentor Match, even if Engineers Australia had been advised of the possibility of such damages.

No solicitations or advertisements are permitted on the Mentor Match platform. This includes promotion or endorsement of any financial, commercial or non-governmental agency.

Engineers Australia reserves the right to cease providing the Mentor Match platform at any time.
